Shannon has 6 years experience of teaching maths to KS3, KS4 and KS5. She also has some experience working in a primary with y5 and y6 student's as an in school tutor and a SEN teaching assistant. She has a degree in Mathematics and a PGCE in Secondary Maths Education.
Seeing a student go from ‘I can’t do this’ to ‘I’ve got it!’ is the best part of my job
With experience of teaching a wide range of ages and abilities, Shannon is able to adapt her teaching style to meet individual needs and develop student’s confidence in maths no matter where their starting points were. One of Shannon's strengths lie in the ability to develop really good relationships with students. This results in a very positive, nurturing learning environment, especially with students who experience some anxiety around maths as they aren’t as afraid to get things wrong or say they don't understand something.
